Food and Drink at fforest

We take a lot of pride in our food & drink. Our location means that the quality of food available to us is outstanding. With great ingredients, we prefer to keep it uncomplicated, local and delicious. We grow our own vegetables, brew our own beer. As with everything else, we love doing what we do outdoors. Over a fire.

Our specialities are wood smoked and barbecued meats, wood-fired pizzas, colourful salads and tasty tagines and curries.  We will work with you to blend three key ingredients - people, produce and place - and make them sing and shine.

We have a range of dining options to suit most budgets. Choose from our seasonal menu, or work with us to create something unique, incorporating the best that the land, sea and river has to offer. The provenance of fforest food is very important to us, and whatever menu you select, you can be sure each dish will feature the real tastes and textures of our favourite local ingredients.

Friday

Welcome party

All guests staying at fforest are invited to a welcome party* at the Bwthyn pub. This is a great place for your guests to break the ice or catch up with old friends. We'll serve your choice of pizza, soup  and salad or our fforest warming supper  (March / November).

For a small additional per person charge (*please refer to our original quote), any off-site guests can come and join the party too. Guests will need to book this at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Saturday

Wedding day food

All on-site guests are served breakfast* at the lodge barn.

We like to keep things simple so we have a basic pricing structure for wedding day food, but lots of menu possibilities.

Our standard per person pricing is for 1 festival style meal and 1 traditional sit down meal (feast):

Option 1, feast lunch / festival evening
This option works well if you’re planning on having a ceremony at 12pm
Lunch - 2 course, feast style seating
Dinner - 1 course, Festival style

or

Option 2, festival lunch / feast evening
This option works well if you’re planning on having a ceremony in the afternoon between 2-4pm
Lunch - fforest picnic grazing table, casual seating
Dinner - 2 course, feast style seating

We have reduced prices for children. We don't charge for infants aged 2 years and under (as they are expected to share from an adult's plate), unless we are specifically asked to provide the infant(s) with a meal and then we charge the child rate.

For more detail of what each meal entails, please see our Wedding menu tab.

Sunday

The morning after

We don't anticipate too many early risers on Sunday morning, but if anyone does fancy an early cuppa and toast they can come down and say "Hello" at the lodge barn at 9am.

Everyone else staying at fforest can come and join us from 10am when we will serve our slap up Welsh barbecue brunch until 11am to ease you into the day before you say your goodbyes and head off into your happily ever after.

*The welcome party food,  Saturday breakfast and Sunday brunch are all included in your guests' accommodation pricing.

Allergies

Whilst we endeavor to cater for food allergies, e.g.  gluten, nut & dairy, we are unable to cater for dietary preferences.  We will work with you to select a menu that meets you and your guests requirements, with options for vegetarians & vegans.

For those guests with allergies, we will need to know details of the severity before we are able to confirm if we can cater for them.

Drinks Options

You may want to offer your guests reception drinks, cocktails, wine with their meal, a pint or two, or a glass of fizz for the speeches.  Have a look at our carefully selected wine list, our own locally crafted beer list and our cocktail list for prices.
