Philosophy of Compensation
The Colchester Public Schools strive to hire highly qualified staff who want to work in partnership with colleagues, parents and the community as a whole, to meet the academic and social emotional needs of students, while establishing a relationship of mutual respect and trust. As such, the Board of Education believes that competitive compensation is an investment in the community.
Given the Board’s commitment to attracting and retaining talented/skilled educators and leaders, the Board of Education sets forth the following guiding principles relative to compensation and working conditions.
Salaries and insurance benefits shall be competitive within our regional district reference group
Employee wellness benefits both the employee and the employer
Vacation and personal time leads to improved performance and outcomes
Employees will always be people first, and treated with respect
