Some ArcGIS Pro geoprocesses are cloud based meaning that they run on an Esri managed could service. Such tools may have limitations as to input file sizes and processing speed.
Some cloud based geoprocesses make use of credits. These tools will have one or two gold circle icons next to their tools. Note that users have a limited set of credits so use these tools wisely!
To estimate the number of credits a cloud based geoprocess might consume, click the estimate credits link at the top of the tool. Note that the link will not pop up until you populate the geoprocessing fields (the tool needs to know the file size and desired parameters before it can estimate the credits needed).
When computing the estimated credits, the tool will also return you your available credits.
Click on the Add Field icon. This will bring up the fields view table.
Specify the new field name and its data type.
When done, make sure to save the edits by clicking on the Save button under the Fields tab. The field will not be available in the attribute table unless the save button is clicked.
You can bring back the Catalog window by clicking on the Catalog Pane button under the View tab.
You can bring back the Contents pane by clicking on the Contents button under the View tab.
Sometime, changes made to project folders such as creating or renaming GIS files may not show up in the Catalog pane. You might need to refresh the folder by right-clicking on the folder and clicking on Refresh.
A shapefile does not have a placeholder for a NULL value for its attribute table.
For example, when exporting a feature layer with a table join to a shapefile, all numeric NULLs will be converted to 0s and all text NULLs will be converted to empty text.
To check if your map is color blind safe, you can simulate color vision impairment conditions by clicking on the Color Vision Simulator under the View tab.
To grab a screenshot on your Windows computer, simultaneously click on the ❖ (Windows) + Shift + S keys on your keyboard. Wait a few seconds until your screen ghosts out. When it does, click and drag your mouse to define the area of your screen you want to grab a snapshot of. Once done, the snapshot will be save in your clipboard. You can paste it in your email or any publication application like Word or PowerPoint.
