Specialized course designed to offer students an opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills related of the growing sports and entertainment industry. This course addresses such diverse products as the sporting event itself, its athletes, sports facilities, sporting goods, personal training, and sports information.
In this course, students create, execute, and evaluate promotional strategies and content for advertising, sales promotion, and publicity/ public relations. Students apply project management techniques to guide and control promotional campaign development and execution. They will plan and implement procedures to use marketing communications that mitigate image or brand-damaging issues. Technology, employability skills, leadership, and communications will be incorporated in classroom activities.
