The Finance cluster prepares learners for careers inf financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial management. Career opportunities are available in every sector of the economy and requires individuals working in finance to have strong computation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Designed to develop technological proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases presentations, communication, Internet use, ethics and careers using technology applications. This is a great entry level course for students interested in business careers and/or business technology.

Focuses on three integrated areas of instruction--academic planing and career development, financial literacy, and technology. Course content covers college and career preparation to computer literacy skills to managing personal finances and reducing personal risk. This is a one credit course required for graduation.
Designed to help students understand the basic principles of the accounting cycle. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to basic financial accounting, including analyzing and recording business transactions, preparing and interpreting financial statements, demonstrating generally accepted accounting principles, and performing banking and payroll activities.

Students must have taking Accounting I to enroll in Advanced Accounting. This course emphasizes accounting principles and techniques for solving business problems and making financial decisions. Advanced Accounting includes adjusting inventory control systems; applying accounting procedures for revenues, expenses, and loans; and enhancing accounting skills.

Students will develop skills related to banking and related services as they process customer transactions, maintain cash drawer, process documents, and respond to customer request to provide other customer services. Students employ technical skills to perform data processing functions as well as to perform new account functions. Students enrolled in this course will go through an interview and application process for the position of student teller for our First Metro Indians branch on campus.
Work based learning: First Metro Bank Teller
Students will be provided with an overview of financial and investment planning procedures. Students will develop short term and long term budgetary plans, produce accurate reports, and make informed business decisions. Students will examine stocks, bonds, and commodities as well as insurance and annuity products.
Designed to help students develop skills related to insurance services including life, health, and property insurance, as they gain product knowledge of the industry. Students will examine characteristics of insurance policies, learn insurance terminology used to explain insurance risks and benefits, distinguish between policy types and coverage, and create and complete insurance-related documents to process information.
Students will develop knowledge and skills related to commercial insurance, including property, liability, and worker's compensation. Students examine characteristics of commercial insurance policies, learn how to file a claim and develop the skills needed to create a commercial insurance plan.
Designed to help students develop knowledge and skills related to personal insurance, including automobile, homeowners, life, and health insurance. Students examine characteristics of personal insurance policies, develop the skills needed to create a personal insurance plan, and learn how to file a claim. Students will also evaluate individual customer needs to determine the appropriate insurance coverage.
Designed to provide students with an overview of the principles of business finance. This course focuses on major areas of study, including economics, marketing, accounting procedures, and the global financial market. Students develop strong decision making skills that enables them to become more responsible consumers, producers, or business entrepreneurs.
We are delighted to offer our faculty, staff, and students the services of First Metro Bank. CCHS Faculty and students can conduct their banking during the lunch block each school day. Student Tellers undergo a rigorous application, interview, and training process through out the summer to secure a position as a First Metro Student Teller.
