Science

In third grade, students explore the wonders of science through hands-on investigations, observations, and meaningful discussions. Throughout the year, they will learn about life, earth, and physical sciences while developing critical thinking, problem solving, and inquiry skills. Students are encouraged to ask questions, make discoveries, and connect science to the world around them.

In our Plant Life Cycles unit, students will explore how plants grow and change from seed to mature plant. They will learn about the stages of a plant's life cycle, what plants need to survive, and how seeds are dispersed to create new plants. Through hands-on investigations and observations, students will develop a deeper understanding of the important role plants play in our world.

In our Force and Motion unit, students will explore how pushes and pulls affect the movement of objects. Through hands-on investigations and experiments, they will discover how different forces can change an object's speed, direction, or position. Students will also learn how scientists observe, ask questions, and use evidence to explain how things move in the world around them.

During our Earth Day unit, students will learn about the importance of caring for our planet and protecting Earth's natural resources. Through hands-on activities and discussions, they will explore ways to reduce, reuse, recycle, and make environmentally responsible choices. Students will discover how even small actions can make a big difference in keeping our Earth healthy for future generations.
