Class overview

Third grade is an amazing year for students and parents. We will learn so much this year and I cannot wait to get to know and support each one of you.

We use CKLA for reading.

Integrated Units (Grades 3–5): There are two daily components: a Skills strand for decoding and a Knowledge strand for building background vocabulary in science, history, and literatureThe two strands merge into longer 90-minute blocks. Students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," tackling sophisticated writing, grammar, and morphology alongside classic novels and authentic texts

For math we use Eureka Squared:

Eureka Math Squared is a comprehensive, student-centric math curriculum designed by Great Minds for students in Pre-K through Algebra 1. It builds upon the original Eureka Math (often used in EngageNY) by adding more hands-on activities, digital interactives, and instructional tools designed to make lessons more accessible and engaging.
