To find a place:
Start at the origin
Like moving up a ladder, move up or down (North or South) first. Latitude is always listed first and comes before longitude in the dictionary.
Then move across (East or West) to your location.
Try finding the latitude and longitude coordinates for the letter P.
Start at 0,0 (where the Prime Meridian and the Equator intersect);
Then move down the Prime Meridian (red line) to the latitude line where P resides (30 degrees South);
Finally, move across to P (15 degrees West)
The exact location is 30 degrees South, 15 degrees West.
