About Me:
Hello! My name is Kelly Ringler and I am the Gifted and Talented Teacher and an Interventionist. This means I will be serving the gifted and talented population as well as students who need extra support or enrichment in math. I will also be teaching 6th Grade Advanced Math and coordinating school assessments.
I am entering my 13th year teaching. My experience includes 10 years teaching within D12 at BME and PVE teaching GT and Math Intervention as well as 4th and 5th grades. Teaching is my second career, and I love to bring my background as an IT Consultant into the classroom challenging students to think creatively and critically while using real world scenarios.
Outside of the classroom I love to spend time with my family, including my husband, James, who is the owner and operator of the Colorado Springs franchise of Canine Dimensions In Home Dog Training, our son, Oscar, who was born in January of 2020, and our two dogs, Tuesday and Wednesday (pictured in the banner). Some of my hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, and photography.
I Believe....
Every student should be challenged, heard, and respected as a member of our community
In the power of "Yet" and that hard work and effort should be celebrated
High expectations yield high results
Learning is NOT a spectator sport
Together we can achieve more than we can apart
In Logical Consequences - Own it - Fix it - Learn from it
Learning should be fun
This is going to be a fantastic year!
HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY STUDENT?
Ask your student specific questions about school each day.
Check the daily planner or refer to the online calendars for information on homework.
Have your child explain their assignments to you.
Celebrate effort and persistence on assignments. We learn by doing and practice helps us become smarter.
Review the homework assignment. It is okay to tell them if something is wrong and they "fix" it, but your student needs to understand the concept as well.
Encourage your student to give their personal best on all homework assignments and projects.
Keep in contact with me.

Make reading important in your home. Reading is an essential skill that needs to be nurtured and practiced throughout our lives.
Help your student(s) find books that interest them and encourage them to read everyday.
Spend time reading as a family, show your children that reading is a lifelong skill!
Remain positive and avoid fixed mindset terms like "I was never good at math" or "I'm not a writer."
