Homework

Advanced Math is the only class I assign homework. Other reading and math groups will work on projects in class only.

The 6th Grade Advanced Math class uses the Glencoe's curriculum. Students will also be using the ALEKS math program to make sure foundational skills are mastered along with enrichment.

Goals for Advanced Math:

Provide acceleration for students strong in math (as determined by: Glencoe Beginning of the Year tests, Scantron Math Scores, Math CMAS, CogAT Quantitative scores, Gifted Identification in Math, and teacher recommendation). This criteria is approved by the district and Cheyenne Mountain's Board of Education.
Dig deeper into concepts through problem solving and Inquiry Labs

The calendar shows assignments dates when they are due. You can change the view to week or month.

Any assignment is due before entering the classroom. Previously they need to share with me anything digital. They will not be allowed to get on a computer to share the assignment with me until the end of class, and by that time the assignment will be late. This policy was reviewed with every student in September.

Students absent will be given a day to make up work for each day absent, plus 1 day.
