Chromebooks

Chromebook Management/DYKnow
  • Teachers can log into Dyknow and manage what students can see on their ChromeBook, where they can go, and how long they can work on that device.
  • Communication is also available on the Chromebook, teachers can send messages to a group or an individual if needed.
Chromebook Extensions
  • My favorite extensions are: Read & Write (allows you to annotate, read aloud, highlight and much more), Evernote (similar to Google Keep), and Screencastify (allows you to capture the screen while you talk, annotate, and work through a problem).
  • There are many more extensions available, just open your Chrome Store and click the Extensions radio button to see the list.

Chromebook Applications

Applications are apps that open in another screen and allow you to perform a multitude of tasks

  • Drawing, typing lessons, Quizlet, Learning Games, Dropbox, and many more
  • Most applications can be collaborative
  • Some apps are blocked by CMS but you can try them at home and then lobby for them to be allowed.
