OPTIONS:Â
Course are available at various levels at Garinger:
Standard
Honors
College Level (AP/Advanced Placement, Cambridge and Dual Enrollment/CPCC)
BEST PRACTICE:Â
Students should choose the most challenging level for their ability level. These guidelines may be helpful as you decide.
80% or better in the course before will help you be best prepared, though it is not required.
Step up to the next level but don't skip over a level so you slowly increase your workload and strengthen your habits.
Good attendance is a must for all levels, but especially for honors and college-level courses.
College Courses
Students can earn college credits in high school by taking AP (Advanced Placement) or Dual Enrollment (Career & College Promise through CPCC) courses while in high school. Learn more about each of these options below.
AP courses are college courses taken in high school. They offere weighted GPA credit for high school and the potential for college credit, depending on how a student does on the AP Exam taken at the end of the course. Some AP courses meet high school graduation requirements, so students should consider incorporating these into their four-year graduation plans.Â

These classes are taught in two Pathways: College Transfer Pathway and CTE Pathway.
