CMS Launchpad: Teachers can reset this in their CMS Launchpad using the following guide - Reset Passwords Through My Classes - teachers can enter a one time default password using the following guidelines. Then the student will create a new password that they have never used, following the guidelines below.

13 characters long
Upper and Lower case letters
Numbers or Special Characters
Do NOT use your name, birthday, student ID# or a previous password
Write it down in your phone when you are done!
Multi-Factor Authenticator (6-digit) Code: This can only be reset in the Media Center. Come down at an appropriate time with a pass for assistance.

Get a pass during class to come to the Media Center to have the device checked.
Bring the device and the charger. We need to check BOTH items.
Come to the Media Center before 1st block (6:45 am - 7:10 am) OR Get a pass during class to come to the Media Center to have the device checked.
We will troubleshoot the device and determine if the device is defective or if it has been damaged.
If there are damages these can be paid one of two ways:
In cash with exact amount in the Media Center.
Through the Online School Payments portal - take a screenshot of the payment confirmation.

Once the damages are paid for, a replacement device will be assigned.
Device charges can be paid one of two ways:
In cash with exact amount - bring it to the Media Center the next school day and fill out the envelope form.
Through the Online School Payment portal.
Select the correct item you are paying for.
Add the item to your cart.
***If there is more than one fee then you will need to go back to the list and add any additional items to your cart before checking out.
Select "Checkout".
Either login to your account or create one.
Go back to your cart and select the student's name associated with their student ID#.
Complete the payment portion as normal with a debit or credit card.
A payment confirmation will be sent via email. Screenshot your payment and bring it to the Media Center for a replacement device.
Shut down your Chromebook before leaving school.
Connect to your home WiFi.
Log into the Chromebook.
Once you enter the first website, you will encounter a filtering process. Type in your:
Username = StudentID@student.cms.k12.nc.us
It should NOT ask for a password if you are typing in @student.cms.nc.us after your Student ID #.
The Chromebook is now ready to use at home.
***If you are still having trouble, record what you are doing by either using the Chromebook camera or your own personal device.
As soon as you realize that you cannot find your Chromebook, come to the Media Center.
You will complete a "Lost Chromebook" form with your name, student ID#, and a brief description of the last time you remember having it.
If unable to locate the device, a lost device fee of $50 will be incurred.
It is the student's responsibility to bring their charged Chromebook every day.
Go see the Registrar in Student Services FIRST!
I'm transferring to another high school within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS):
You will keep your Chromebook and the charger when you go to the new school.
You will take your Chromebook and charger to the Technology Person at your new school for them to verify that your technology is working and set up for their school.
I'm transferring out of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS):
You will bring both your Chromebook and charger to the Media Center for it to be collected.
If either items are lost or damaged you will be charged for each issue.
I'm moving to another city or state:
You will bring both your Chromebook and charger to the Media Center for it to be collected.
If either items are lost or damaged you will be charged for each issue.
