What is Career & College Promise (CCP)? The Career & College Promise Program is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program that allows and pays for Tuition for eligible NC high school juniors and seniors to enroll in College Classes at NC community colleges (CPCC for Cardinals). Students earn college credit and high school credit for practically no cost to them. CCP courses can be a 4 year university transfer course or a career technical certificate course. Courses take place of Berry electives and students can chose from online or face to face classes with CPCC. Students must have their own transportation to leave high school early or arrive late if they chose to do a CPCC class instead of school classes.
Why take CCP courses? Research shows that high school students who take CCP are more likely to attend and graduate from college with an advance certification or degree. Because CCP pays for college classes, the program also helps reduce the cost of college and makes post-secondary education a viable option for those who believe that the cost puts college out of reach for them.
Around 100 Berry juniors and seniors took over 400 college classes via the Career college promise program in the last school year alone

Early release/Late Arrival CPCC students leave campus within 10 minutes of the conclusion of the last school class /arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their first school class. Students may not remain on campus or any other area of the school unless a prior approval is obtained. Students with after-school commitments must leave campus and return after 2:15pm. Students should continue monitoring their CPCC email before during and after their class start to stay on top of their affairs. START YOUR CPCC CLASS ON THE START DATE:. Login to your CPCC Brightspace account on the first day if it is an online/hybrid class or go to the campus at the time if it is a face to face class. Final grade will be recorded on high school transcript.
Continuing CPCC classes in the following semesters: - Students MUST complete short reenrollment formalities every semester with their high school liaison. They MUST also resend their high school transcript to CPCC using CFNC every semester to maintain their dual enrollment eligibility. A new CCP Agreement MUST to be completed with your high school liaison for every school year.
Choosing CCP classes means you are now applying to college and are ready for the responsibilities of a college student. This includes being knowledgeable about policies, calendars of both the high school and CPCC. Ignorance is not an excuse, as college students are expected to proactively seek information that impacts their choices. There will be no progress reports to parents or POB staff. A final grade will be reported by CPCC which will go on high school transcript as explained in the CCP agreement.
Note: If interested in CCP summer classes: CCP summer classes are open to rising seniors only and application period is open during the spring semester only. Additionally, only CCP tuition is covered for summer. CMS will not cover the student miscellaneous fees or book credits! Please make sure students and parents understand the financial responsibility before registering for classes. If a student registers for a course and then changes their mind, they have up to the day before the course starts to drop and receive a refund for any paid money. Once the first day for the semester has come, regardless of payment or not the student is responsible and will have generated a student fees bill for the associated courses. If these fees are not paid they will prevent the student from future registration in CCP and will be sent to collections until resolved
For High school students with 504s/IEPs and wanting to continue using accommodations at CPCC- these and your accommodations do not transfer to CPCC even if you are a dual enrollment student .You have to self identify and reach the ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES AT CENTRAL PIEDMONT to arrange this.
