Please note the English time for your child(ren). It is very important that your child is in my class every day since I only see them for 60 minutes. Please try to schedule appointments and such outside of the English time. I have high expectations but I know that the students can reach those expectations if they try their best.

Beginning in second grade, the homeroom classes are mixed up and put into different English classes based on your child's needs. In most cases, your child will go to another classroom for their English instruction.

The only daily required homework is reading and filling out the reading log. It is important that you witness your child reading and then ask them some general comprehension questions when they are done. You can ask them to summarize the pages read, ask about the characters or setting, or have them tell you their favorite part. You must then sign the reading log. The reading log is due every Monday throughout the year. You will find specifics on the time that should be spent on reading under the grade level. There is not any other weekly required homework. A scanned copy of the reading log is below.
