Fifth Grade

Your class time is 8:30-9:30.

In fifth grade, your daily required reading time is 30 minutes. This must be done outside of class. The reading you do in class does not count toward your 30 minutes.

Be sure you know how to log on to PowerSchool to keep track of your grades. If you are unsure of how to access PowerSchool, please contact the front office.

The CMS grading policy, that makes up your final grade, is 60% weight for "perform" grades (formerly "formal" grades) such as papers/projects, tests, and quizzes. Then 40% weight is given to "rehearse" grades (formerly "informal" grades) such as class work and homework.

Per CMS policy, you have a 3 school day grace period to turn in late work. Any work turned in after that three day period will have points deducted (taken off).

Per CMS policy, you will have an opportunity to retake formal tests. You will have this opportunity within three weeks of when the original test was given and you may receive up to an 80%.
