About Me

My name is Lynne Woytek. I have had the privilege of teaching English at Waddell/S.A.I.L. since the 2013-2014 school year. I love the uniqueness of this school!

I was born in upstate New York in a city called Rochester. I have a brother, Mike, who is two years older than me. He lives with his wife and two kids in New Hampshire. My brother is a corporate pilot and his wife, Erin, is a pastry chef. She won a competitive baking show on the Food Network and has written 3 baking books. If you would like any of them, let me know! My nephew Maxwell was born in 2011 and my niece Violet was born in 2015.

I have a cat named Pickles, (the name came from one of my childhood books). Once I buy a house with a yard, I will be getting a pot belly pig. They are my favorite animal and have loved them for a very long time. I have quite a few other animals that I really like, but I have also grown to love sloths! I love all animals and love everything about nature. I will be planting a lot of trees and flowers in my future yard as well, away from where my pig will be rooting!

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I loved my kindergarten teacher so much that I wanted to be like her when I grew up. So, when it was time for college, I went into teaching. I got my undergraduate degree at SUNY Brockport (a NY state school). My college was so close to home, that I could see my family whenever I wanted. My best friends also went to school close to home so we got to see each other often. After graduating, I went right to graduate school and got my master's degree in literacy education from St. John Fisher College (also in my home town).
