Curriculum Update
Math
I expected students applying two different strategies to check over the answer addition and subtraction word problems and any computation. That is why they learned multiple ways for the computation. However, they need to really good and master two strategies.
- Reviewing adding algorithm of 4 and 5 digit number
- Review comparing whole numbers and decomposed number , Example: Compare the value of 23 thousands, 15 hundreds, 5 tens and 33 ones and 23 thousands, 5 hundreds, 15 tens, 53 ones
-Review composing decomposed number- what is 45 hundreds, 15 tens and 7 ones !!!!!
-New
Subtracting 4 and 5 digit numbers using standard algorithm
-Subtracting 4 and 5 digit number using number line strategy
- Subtracting using base ten blocks
- Understanding subtracting across zero
- Using compensation to subtract whole number
- Always using addition to check over the answer to subtraction
