The Counselors
Ms. Delaney is the counselor for all 6th grade students only.
Ms. Clyburn-Johnson is the counselor for all 7th grade students - Seventh grade concerns should be directed to her.
Ms. Case is the counselor for all 8th grade students - Eighth grade concerns should be directed to her.
We are happy to discuss your concerns regarding your child. Please email your grade level counselor with concerns. Due to the nature of our position, we are serving children and are often not in the office. If you would like to meet with your child’s counselor, please email her to set up an appointment to ensure that time is set aside in order to fully attend to your needs. If you have an emergency please contact the main office.
At Piedmont, we meet as teams as needed, should you child have an academic concern. When a meeting is scheduled, you will meet with your child's core teachers (LA, Math, Sci & SS). If you have a subject specific concern and you would like to meet with an individual teacher, please contact the teacher directly.
Please contact your counselor and administrator to schedule to schedule team conferences.
In addition, we often correspond by email as teams. Do not be surprised if you see all of your child's teachers, counselor and administrator on email correspondence.
We look forward to getting to know all Piedmont students and helping them have successful and rewarding middle school years.
All parents have signed a magnet compact and Piedmont’s IB contract. Please remember that IBMYP is an accelerated program. Parents and students are expected to monitor grades via Power School. Progress reports are sent home for students receiving grades of D or F. Students must pass Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies (Individuals and Societies), Health & PE, and an Elective (Encore) in order to be promoted to the next grade and remain at Piedmont. Students must pass World Language, complete the required Service as Learning (Community Service hours/Community Service Project), and demonstrate continuing acquisition of technology skills in order to remain in the IB program. Failure to meet the IB Magnet requirements will result in removal from the program and return to the home school. Transportation is in accordance with magnet procedures.
All students need to meet CMS standards in order to be promoted.
The high school registration process begins in early spring. Students will receive specific information second semester from Ms. Case.
