My name is Tyonna Glover, and I will be your child’s First Grade teacher at J.H. Gunn Elementary in Room C-7. I am from Queens, NY and I have lived in Charlotte for 4 years. This will be my fourth-year teaching Elementary Education. I’ve earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Delaware State University and I am currently working on my masters at UNCC. Science - Essential Question: What are science tools and how do we use them to discover and learn?
I love to read books from my favorite authors- Eric Carle, Audrey Penn, Wilson Rawls, Fred Gipson, Gene Zion, Debbie Herman, Ezra Jack Keats and Dr. Seuss. During the year, I like to help students find authors they like and have author studies and Book talks. It's so much fun to share and read our stories to each other.
Two of my favorite books I love to read to my class are
The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn and The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle. I hope you get a chance to read them with your family!
Read these two books and the discuss the moral of the story. The both teach a very important life lesson.
Here is a wonderful site for you and your child to find and read books from a wonderful storybook collection. https://www.storylineonline.net/
