Rest assured, this is a common issue that even adults experience. Here are a few tools that might help you find books that align with your reading preferences.
Log in to this public library resource with your student ID. Select Teen then choose between fiction and nonfiction then narrow down by genre.
Choose a year then select up to two categories at once to narrow down results. For example, 2023 Young Adult + Realistic Fiction
Brightly curates lists of books for all types of readers. You can search by genre but I recommend checking out some of the articles as well.
Browse lists, add friends, get involved in a reading community and before you know it you will have more books you want to read than you can ever get through. It's a good problem!

While I prefer the New York Times bestseller list, the Amazon list (Amazon sales only) can also be useful.
