Fifth-graders observed the black-and-white photography of Ansel Adams and analyzed his use of contrast, balance, and harmony. Then partners used digital cameras to capture images of nature in our school courtyard. The final phase involved editing the photos with a focus on the principles of contrast, balance, and harmony.
