Congratulations Midyear Graduates! Below are a few reminders that are specific for your graduation ceremony.
Midyear Graduation Date, Location and Reporting :
Midyear Graduation is Thursday, February 10th at 7:30pm at Bojangles Coliseum. Click the image to the right for a link to the address and map of Bojangles Coliseum.
Graduates are to report to BoPlex concourse and enter by the long ramp midway to Ovens
Auditorium no later than 6:30pm. Graduates will enter and line-up in the BoPlex concourse – principals and school administrators should be present in the hallway with their graduates.
MIDYEAR GRADUATION REQUIRED DRESS AND BEHAVIOR FOR GRADUATES
Graduates are expected to wear a mask.
The graduation floor and stage will be set-up over ice so dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes.
Food, drinks, noisemaking devices, beach balls, etc. are not allowed.
Seniors are required to wear appropriate caps and gowns to participate in the graduation ceremony. All
seniors, when robed in their caps and gowns, should adhere to the following attire guidelines:Graduates should wear dark dress slacks & a dress shirt and tie or a dark dress/skirt & top and dark
dress shoesAll caps are to be worn with the tassel to the right until the seniors are declared graduates.
No decorations or wording should be added to the cap or gown.
The following items are not to be worn or carried by graduates:
sunglasses
headphones, IPODS, Blue Tooth earpieces
head scarves (except for religious purposes)
cell phones, cameras, purses
Appropriate behavior is expected from graduates during the Processional, Ceremony, and Recessional. Graduates who toss their caps at the conclusion of the ceremony will not be allowed to come back in the arena to retrieve their caps.
MIDYEAR GRADUATION CEREMONY PROCEDURES
Principals will lead their graduation candidates into the coliseum during the processional and will sit with their students during the ceremony. Each school will be assigned a designated row(s).
As each high school is announced for awarding of diplomas; the principal will lead the candidates to the stage, proceed across the stage to the table, and present a diploma scroll to each candidate.
After all candidates from all schools have received their diploma scroll, the presiding principal will pronounce them graduates of CMS.
Principals and graduates will exit the coliseum and proceed to the Bojangles’ Coliseum tunnel for the distribution of diplomas and diploma covers.

Guests and attendees must adhere to the mask mandate policy
Guests and attendees may not bring the following items into the facility:
air horns
backpacks
balloons
banners
beach balls
duffelbags
fanny packs
flowers
gifts
noise makers
packages of any kind
outside food and beverages
