SUPPLIES

All students are asked to purchase rosin for their bows.

Any brand of rosin is fine, light or dark in color.

Shoulder Rests: All violin & viola students are asked to use a shoulder rest.

I recommend purchasing one of the following:

Violin 4/4 (full-sized even if you play a 3/4 violin) Anton Breton VP-70W Wolf Style Shoulder Rest Black or Kun (Collapsible or not) Violin Shoulder Rest (collapsibles fit into almost all cases)

Viola Anton Breton VP-70W Wolf Style Shoulder Rest Black 4/4 (it's for violin but fits 15" violas) or Kun (Collapsible or not) Viola Shoulder Rest Standard 15+ in. (collapsibles fit into almost all cases)

Orchestra Class Overview

My goal is to provide students with the tools to become their own "best teachers" in a fun and creative setting. Classes are student-centered with an emphasis on excellence and fostering social-emotional learning. Every skill and activity is presented sequentially; what is learned on the first day of class will continue to be applied throughout the student's musical career. Although we primarily focus on how to play an instrument, students fine tune written and aural skills as they learn about music history, composition, and teamwork in a performance ensemble.
