LI/TD Mission at Parker Academic Center
Enriching the curriculum is an ongoing strategic process for the educator and the learner. Learning activities are examined for opportunities to enhance both the academic experience and students’ life-long love of learning.
Students actively engage in the learning process in ALL classrooms. Learning does not occur passively and teachers hold students to high expectations for discussion, collaboration, and creativity for all learning tasks.
Students are empowered when they engage and explore curriculum via enriching methods. Our teachers understand the importance of listening to students, encouraging passion, and cultivating a commitment to excellence. These concepts empower students to engage with their environment and view themselves as partners and leaders in their educational pursuits.
Creating opportunities for learners to explore begins by centering them in the curriculum. Across content areas, when students are presented with challenges that promote discovery and are guided in the inquiry process, they learn to develop a profile of their academic interests.
