The Goals of the Bain School Counseling Department Are:
• To assist students with educational, personal, career and goal planning.
• To develop personalized programs based on each student’s strengths and needs.
• To help students understand themselves and others.
• To assist students in identifying and dealing with problems.

Twila Quattlebaum, School Counselor (3-5): Greetings! My name is Twila Quattlebaum (Ms. Q) and I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I attended college at South Carolina State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and English. I also attended The Citadel as a graduate student, where I received my Master of Science degree and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. I also graduate from Lenoir Rhyne University with a Master of Science in School Counseling. I practiced in South Carolina for 6 years, and then moved to Charlotte in January of 2006 to work for CMS. My home is now at Bain Elementary School as the School Counselor. I live in Monroe with my family where you can find us cheering for the Panthers, Hornets and Checkers!! I love to read, watch movies, and listen to all kinds of music, scrapbook, take pictures and bake.
Belinda Swain, School Counselor (K-2): Mabuhay! I am Belinda G. Swain and I am the counselor for Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2. I came to the United States from the tropical country Philippines in 2003 when I got a job offer to work as a school counselor in Bertie County, N.C. I have been a school counselor for many years having served elementary, middle school and high school. I came to work in CMS in 2012 from a year in New Mexico working with Native Americans and Hispanic students. I left briefly in 2014 to relocate back in the Eastern part of North Carolina. I joined Bain Elementary in September last year. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education with major in Guidance and Counseling from St. Theresa’s College in Cebu, Philippines and Master of Science Degree in Continuing Education majoring in School Counseling at The University of West Alabama. I am married and have a baby boy, his name is Colin Pascual and a future Bain Bobcat.
