Student and Parent Acknowledgement and Pledge
The Code of Student Conduct has been developed to help your child receive quality instruction in an orderly educational environment. The school needs your cooperation in this effort.
Should you have any questions when reviewing the Code of Student Conduct, please contact your child’s school principal. You may access an electronic copy of the handbook on the CMS website: www.cms k12.org. You may also access a paper copy at your child’s school. Students and parents/guardians must (also) abide by the District’s internet policies and procedures (S-SINT/R).
South Charlotte Middle School Band/Orchestra Universal Studios trip Code of Conduct
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students, we have established the following Code of Conduct for this trip. Students are expected to follow these rules closely:
Students will adhere to all rules described in the CMS Code of Conduct.
Students will behave in a manner reflective of South Charlotte Middle School Students.
Students will follow the instructions of teachers and chaperones.
Students will be respectful teachers and chaperones during all guided visits and events.
Students will follow all the Cabana Bay Beach Resort's rules and regulations.
Students are not allowed in Cabana Bay Beach Resort's rooms other than theirs.
Students may not leave the Cabana Bay Beach Resorts without permission from the teachers and chaperones.
Students are not allowed to participate in any water activities.
Students are not allowed to fitness gym access
Students will provide chaperones with their cellphone numbers at the trip's start. If students do not own a cell phone, they must remain with their chaperones.
Students will adhere to the SCMS dress code on the trip.
Students will respect the solemnity of the sites we visit.
Students take full responsibility for personal devices (cell phones, tablets, etc.). The school is not responsible for the security of the device. Due to our itinerary, we will be unable to circle back for left or lost devices.
Hotel Expectations & Curfew
Students will follow all the rules and regulations of Cabana Bay Beach. There will be a night chaperone on duty watching South Charlotte students. Students may NOT leave the facility without permission from teachers and chaperones.
Students will adhere to silence and light out time.
Students will sometimes be required not to use their devices during select tours and for other reasons deemed appropriate by SCMS trip leader and chaperones.
Respect for Others: Students must be respectful to their peers, teachers, chaperones, Universal Studios staff, and other visitors at all times.
There will be no partner, chaperone group, room assigned swapping.
Group Supervision: Students must stay with their assigned group and chaperone at all times. Wandering away from the group is strictly prohibited.
Follow Instructions: Students are required to follow the instructions given by teachers, chaperones, and Universal Studios staff immediately and respectfully.
No Inappropriate Behavior: Inappropriate language, disruptive behavior, or disrespect of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes damaging property, cutting lines, or disturbing other visitors.
Cell Phones: Cell phone use is restricted to designated times. They should not be used while transitioning between activities.
No Water Rides: Students are not permitted to go on water rides or participate in any water-related activities.
Respect Park Property: Any form of vandalism or damage to the park's property will result in serious consequences.
If a student violates the Code of Conduct, consequences may include:
Immediate removal from the group activity
A phone call home to parents/guardians
Exclusion from future field trips or activities
Other disciplinary actions as determined by the school administration
