A 3D Render from the workshop.
On 12th April 2020, GUILD in association with CMRIT and FSMK conducted an online workshop on the popular Free/Libre and Open Source Software, Blender.
Blender is a highly versatile design tool set used to help create 3D and 2D images and animations. Blender is also used to help design graphical resources for games, to add VFX to major film productions. Blender is powerful enough to make short movies, do projection mapping and is even used to design models for 3D printing. The livestream was taken by Kevin M from 2nd Semester, ISE department.
During the livestream, Blender was introduced. Kevin first showed the participants a few examples of what could be done by Blender. Participants were then taught how to download and install Blender. A description and introduction to the various tools and options were covered. After that an in-depth explanation of how to model highly photo realistic 3D objects was given.
Throughout the duration of the session, the participants asked their doubts on the YouTube chat and Kevin clarified them. Along with that, Kevin also gave a lot of information as to how the participants could work on their own and make a completely personalized model by themselves. He also gave information on the various resources that are available for Blender that the participants could use later to improve on their skills and make their very own 3D models of anything.
The session was attended by 73 members from around the world and lasted around 150 minutes, and was highly informative and covered a lot of ground.
