NEES Counseling Center Beliefs
The school counselor's role is to support all educational partners in a student's education (students, caregivers, teachers, administration, and the surrounding community) by providing direct and indirect student services within the building relevant to student needs.
The school counselor is an integral professional in the school setting because they are an educator who keeps all educational partners' interests in mind while promoting student success. In a support role in the building, school counselors support students' needs that influence academic progress.
Students grow from school counseling because they are considered for and included in individual, small-group, whole-group, and whole-school interventions.
School counselors work with stakeholders at all levels by providing direct services such as counseling and education and indirect services such as consultation, collaboration, and appraisal.
School counselors demonstrate their effectiveness by collecting data reflecting their work and following trends in academic achievement, attendance, and discipline referrals. They also showcase their work through observations and collaborative work to evaluate the school counseling program.
NEES Counseling Center Mission
The mission of the NEES counseling center is to support and empower students in their academic and developmental journeys as they grow as students and humans.
NEES Counseling Center Vision Statement
The NEES Counseling Center's vision is to ensure that students excel in academics, social/emotional skills, and college/career readiness.
