Accessing PowerSchool
PowerSchool is the platform where all student information and grades are stored. Parents can download the PowerSchool Mobile app (free) and sign up to receive notifications regarding student grades. Each school has a unique access code that can be retrieved through this process.
Retrieve Your Student's Access Code - Click "Get Student Security Info"
If you are using the PowerSchool App, the CMCSS district code is P Z Q N.
Parents/Guardians may want to create a PowerSchool account to view student grades and information. Before completing this step, please ensure you have retrieved your student’s school code in the step above.
Updating Contact Information
Please follow these steps in the event your emergency contact information has changed.
The CMCSS Parent Self Service portal can be found at https://parents.cmcss.net/Home.
Here, you can click on the "Update Student Information" tile to provide accurate contact information and emergency contacts.
School Messenger Text Alerts
Parents/Guardians may be interested in receiving text alerts regarding school updates. A Powerschool account with updated contact information must be on file to receive text alerts.
The CMCSS Parent Self Service portal can be found at https://parents.cmcss.net/Home. If you have not done so already, Register for a Powerschool Account
Once you have registered, text Y to 67578 to opt-in to school text alerts.
Child Nutrition Account
School lunches can be paid for using schoolcafe.com or the SchoolCafe App. This is also where you can apply for free and reduced lunch, preload funds to student accounts and view purchase history.
Visit schoolcafe.com and click "Need to Create an account ot contact us?" and follow the steps to create an account.
Once you have created an account, log in to your dashboard and select “Make a Payment” to add money to your student’s account.
Joining Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a Learning Management System that many teachers use to organize announcements and student assignments. Guardians cannot see the Stream, Classwork, People, or Grades pages in Classroom. Instead, they can receive guardian email summaries to see information about missing work, upcoming work, and class activities.
To be added as a Guardian in Google Classroom, you must provide an email to ONE teacher. You will receive an email invite and must hit “Accept” to be added as a Guardian. Once you have access, you will receive email summaries for each class in which your student is enrolled.
