MCMS Middle School Choir

MCMS offers several options for students with an interest in music, such as Band, Choir, and General Music.

Students with a strong interest in vocal music, may want to consider joining the MCMS Choir!

Who can join choir?  Is there an audition?

MCMS choir is available to all students.  No audition or previous singing experience is necessary. However, any student who considers joining should have a positive, hard-working attitude. You will never be required to sing alone in this class! We are a team! 

What does joining choir mean? What is required?

Joining choir is a full year commitment. It requires high behavioral standards and 100% participation. Students will learn music reading skills, proper vocal technique, and choral singing skills, which prepare students to sing a wide variety of choral music. MCMS Choir stages at least two required group performances, which take place outside of the normal school day at the end of each semester. There will also be opportunities for field trips, competitions, and other choral performances throughout the year!

Materials and Dress code? 

Choir shirts and black pants are required for performances.

 Students are also required to bring a pencil, headphones,  and a hard-working attitude to class daily!
