Ready to APPify your classroom?!?! Not a day goes by that we don't use an app in some way. Students are accustomed to and engaged with them. Why not make your own app to deliver instruction? Why not let kids make apps to demonstrate learning? It doesn't require difficult coding skills, just a basic knowledge of slide decks. Let's explore how to build your own app to display content knowledge.
Computer science and coding are the now as much as the future for our students. By incorporating simple coding into our curriculum we are developing skills in our kids far beyond the content we are teaching them. We are teaching them problem solving, higher order thinking, and so much more. App protoyping can be a fun and engaging way to deliver content. It introduces the concepts of coding without actually coding complicated algorithms. It allows content to be interactive and engaging for students giving them a more immersive experience with the content they are learning. I intend to focus more on Keynote but will also provide examples of how this can be done with Powerpoint and Google Slides. It involves the use of hyperlinks and animations.
