THINGS TO KNOW
Headphones: Students will use these daily. Please check with your child throughout the year to make sure theirs are working properly.
Healthy Snack: There will be a time every morning when students will be allowed to eat a healthy snack. Students may bring fruits/vegetables, pretzels, goldfish, cheese, etc.
Water Bottles: Feel free to send in a water bottle with your child that they will keep on their desk. Make sure it can be sealed easily to avoid spills. There is a water bottle refilling station but water fountains are NOT available. Water bottles must have water only.
Birthday Treats: You may send in birthday treats with your child to share. We will celebrate summer birthdays at the end of the school year.
Tardy Policy: Please familiarize yourself with our tardy policy. The students are counted absent by hours-not days. Therefore, please try to send your child to school on time! Students will be referred to a Truancy Education Program after 30 consecutive unexcused hours (5 days), 38 unexcused hours (6 days), in a month or 65 unexcused hours (10 days) in a school year. Official charges will be filed at 30 consecutive unexcused hours (5 days), 42 unexcused hours in a month (7 days), or 72 unexcused hours (11 days) in a school year. A tardy is equivalent to one hour; a half day is equal to three hours; a whole day equals 6.5 hours. If you have questions, please contact the office at 419-884-1308.Â
Scholastic Books: If you are looking to order books throughout the year, a monthly due date will be posted on this website: Our unique class code will be sent home soon.
Class Dojo: Class Dojo allows families to easily communicate with me on a computer or phone. You can send messages as well as see photos of what our class is doing. There is also a Class Story where I post updates often. This is a quick and easy way to communicate and I highly encourage all parents to join. Please note that messages received outside of school hours may not be viewed or responded to until the following day.
