40 Book Challenge

The 40 book challenge asks your child to read as many chapter books as they can in a school year. This roughly works out to be one a week. 40 is just a target and many students will read more like 15 or 30 while others will read 65. The purpose is to encourage a love of reading and to provide talking points of conversation with the learners about what they are reading. One incentive for the class is that if they can read more chapter books than me in the year (as a class average) then we will have a bonanza party at the end of the year. All students need to be recording what they are reading on their blogs.
