Homework
Homework will be starting this week and will run from Monday-Thursday. It will look different this year due to Covid-19 and limiting the transfer of books to and from school.
Reading-Your child is expected to read for 15 minutes each night. I will be sending home a reading log for you to fill in and monitor your child’s reading. If you do not know the level of the book you do not need to worry about filling in this portion of the reading log. You have the option to read a book you have at home or from our school library. I have also created a “class” on Epic books. I have included the class code in your child’s homework duotang to access our Epic classroom. I have sent home sample questions and prompts to help guide your book talks with your child. It is important to always be thinking as we read and ask questions for understanding and deeper thinking.
Math-In math we will be practicing our fast math facts. This is best done online through Xtramath. I have created a code for each student that will be found in their homework duotang.
To access the sites listed above for homework you can find them under the “Student Links” section on our class blog or you may type them into a search engine, such as google.
