Grade 1 French Immersion Curriculum:
Language Arts : program established by the Department of Education
In my grade 1 class, I will be using a balanced literacy approach to learning. Which includes; oral language, reading and writing on a daily basis. I will introduce themes to develop and introduce new vocabulary as well as literacy centers and games to solidify learning outcomes in both language arts and math. Students work at their own reading level and are grouped in reading groups according to their level/needs. We will also cover various genres of writing throughout the year.
