March 9-13
Thank you to everyone for coming in for parent teacher interviews last week! It is always exciting to have conversations about students' progress and next steps for learning.
We are looking forward to a great week before March Break!
Fundations - Wrapping up Unit 7.
L.Arts - We will be working to finish up our polar bear projects.
Math - Ongoing review of subtracttion strategies and two digit addition and subtraction (no regrouping). I recommend students continue to review their math facts regularly at home to further build speed and accuracy. Quick recall is very helpful as we move into two digit operations and problem solving questions.
Spirit Week at GSP
Tuesday - Crazy Hat/Hair Day
Wednesday - Rock your mismatched socks (for World Down Syndrome Day)!
Thursday - Cozy PJ Day
Friday - Dress in GREEN for St. Patrick’s Day!
Reminder: March 16-20 - March Break (No classes)
Note: Please send in an extra full change of clothing for your child to keep in their backpack. These have been very useful for numerous students to have in the last while. Wet clothing from playing outside at recess is common, so having a couple of extra pairs of socks and mittens in addition to an outfit is ideal, if possible.
Have a wonderful week!
March 2-6
Wow; it's hard to believe it is already March! They say "Time flies when you are having fun!" and we are having fun and learning lots!
Fundations: Unit 7 continues. It is a longer unit and it has been affected by some missed time, unexpected extras and a few fun expected extras. Our trick words are: night, something, carry, city, every, large.
Language Arts: We have completed the research part of our polar bear project and moved into the writing portion of our books last week.
Math: Reviewing the subtraction strategies we've covered so far and two digit addition and subtraction (no regrouping). I recommend students continue to review their math facts regularly at home to further build speed and accuracy. Quick recall is very helpful as we move into two digit operations and problem solving questions.
Early Closure Forms: A new early closure form (blue sheet) was sent home with students today. Please fill this out and return it with your child as soon as possible. We would like these completed again, even if the information hasn't changed from the one completed in September.
Note: Please send in an extra full change of clothing for your child to keep in their backpack. These have been very useful for numerous students to have in the last while. Wet clothing from playing outside at recess is common, so having a couple of extra pairs of socks and mittens in addition to an outfit is ideal, if possible.
