Jase had some apples. Brighton gave him 10 more and now he has 18. How many apples did Jase have to start? (18-10=8)
Mia gave Yeesha 16 cookies and Yessha ate 5. How many cookies are left?
(16-5=11)
6 birds were sitting in a tree. 7 more birds joined them. How many birds are in the tree? (6+7=13)
Aahdi had some candy. Toby gave him 6 more. Now he has 13. How many did Aahdi have to begin? (13-6=7)
The tree had 20 apples but the wind made 5 fall off. How many apples are left? (20-5=15)
Tai had 3 little balls and 4 big balls. How many balls does he have in all?
(3+4=7)
Hannah had 15 red crayons and Charlee took 3 away. How many does Hannah have left? (15-3=2)
I have 12 apples. Lee gave me 6 more. How many do I have now? (12+6=18)
Toby has 4 plums but he wants 6. How many more does he need to get? (count on from 4 or 6-4=2)
Lily traded candy hearts with Elianah and Abigail. She has 6 new candy hearts. 3 of the candy hearts were from Elianah. How many candy hearts did Abigail give to her? (count on from 3 or 6-3=3)
There were some children in the classroom. 6 more walked and that made 18. How many children were in the classroom to begin with? (count back 6 from 18 or 18-6=12)
