Reading

It is a very important that students take a book walk or sneak peek to look at the pictures on every page and think about what is happening in the story before trying to read the words. This is a good habit that we want readers to practice as it gets them thinking about the story.

As students are reading they should be thinking about these 3 strategies and if what they read doesn't look right, make sense or sound right they need to go back and reread to try it again.

Students should work on high words every night to recognize them in a "Snap" so they are not spending time trying to solve them when reading.
