KSPA Family Virtual Learning Hub

Como probablemente ya sepa, todos los distritos escolares y redes chárter del área de Denver trabajaron juntos para tomar la decisión de que los estudiantes no regresarían al edificio escolar este año. Si bien ya estábamos planeando el cambio al aprendizaje en línea a partir del 9 de abril, es decepcionante que no podamos estar en el mismo espacio físico durante el resto del año escolar. Dear KSPA Parents and Caregivers,

As you probably know by now, all Denver-area school districts and charter networks worked together to make the decision that students would not be returning to the school building this year. While we were already planning the move to online learning starting on April 9, it is disappointing that we will not be able to be in the same physical space for the remainder of the school year. Our primary purpose is to engage in remote learning with the following three goals:

1. Provide students with a sense of school community and something resembling normalcy;

2. Provide opportunities for students to engage in learning that will help to prevent learning loss between now and August;

3. Continue to support students and families with their academic, social, and emotional needs through the remainder of the school year, including opportunities for further academic enrichment.

Over the next several days, our teachers will be trained in the new methods and will be planning their initial lessons. The first lessons on April 9 and 10 will serve to teach students how to engage in online learning, with real academic content starting on Monday, April 13. You can learn about what this will look like on our website in the newly redesigned Academics section. Please note that it is not finished yet, but we know that families are aching for information and we want to provide as much as we can at this time. Families can expect the site to be finished by the end of Tuesday.

Lastly, we know that some families do not yet have laptops and may have the wrong charging cord. Please pick up your laptops on Tuesday April 7th, at the following times:

• 5th grade: 8:30-9:30 AM

• 6th grade: 9:30-10:30 AM

• 7th grade: 10:30-11:30 AM

• 8th grade: 11:30 AM-12:30 PM

If you have children in multiple grades pick one time that fits.

Please write the following information largely on a piece of paper and tape it to the right side window or place it on the dashboard so that it can be read:

• Student name

• Grade level

• Accompanying Adult Name

Please understand that we need you to physically get out of your car to open and close the trunk or door that you want us to put the equipment in. KSPA staff will not be touching your car to reduce the chances of spreading the virus. This keeps your family safe as well as our staff.
