Our students will have 4 hours of instructional time each day. This does not mean that teachers will be teaching for four hours, but students should have “school” for four hours.
Students will log into course-specific Google Classrooms to access content and submit their work, on a schedule that they determine at home with their families. All assigned student work must have a daily completion deadline of 8:00PM.
Students are responsible for:
Every Day:
Checking school email three times for updates and communication from school.
Reading daily and recording gist and pages into a reading log.
Attending scheduled time with teachers, attending office hours as needed, attending office hours required for classes they are failing
Monday-Thursday
Viewing a morning message on Monday and Wednesday.
Completing a daily check-in survey for their advisor.
Logging into the Google Classroom sites for the courses that have posted content that day, and:
Viewing or reviewing the virtual lesson with direct instruction & embedded processing opportunities (this may be a Google document, a simulation, a video, a combination, or some other format)
Completing the associated practice activity and submitting it to their teacher for feedback
Reading feedback from their teachers and revising work when requested.
Reading any communication from their school
Responding to online discussion items from classmates as appropriate
Fridays
Logging into or viewing the morning message.
Completing a daily check-in survey
Checking your grades (this will be asked for in the survey)
Viewing and completing any small group intervention work.
Completing all course quizzes and assessments.
Completing any makeup work you have gotten behind on from the week
Reading and responding to any feedback from your teachers
Participating in a 1:1 check in with teacher, social worker, advisor, and/or restorative team member through live meeting or survey
Reading and responding to any school wide communication from the school that has been posted on the school Info Hub.
