Meal Program Information

1. Due to the recent expiration of the Child Nutrition COVID-19 Waivers via the U.S Department of Agriculture,universal "free lunch" will not be offered District-Wide for the 2023-2024 School Year. 

   1. To facilitate participation in the "National School Lunch Program," it is mandatory for all families interested to complete the "Lunch Application" form, conveniently accessible through the District Parent Portal. Should your student(s) have qualified for the "Free Lunch" Program during the 2023-2024 School Year, complimentary lunch service will be extended for the initial 30 days of the academic term.  A link to the parent portal can be found here:  District Parent Portal.

   2. Subsequent to this initial 30-day period, the completion of the Lunch Application form is requisite to continue receiving lunch services. 

   3. In addition, according to Clifton Board of Education Policy 8550, “In the event a student’s school lunch or breakfast bill is in arrears in excess of $50.00, the student will continue to receive lunch or breakfast and their account will be charged accordingly. The Principal or designee shall contact the student’s parent to provide notice of the amount in arrears and shall provide the parent a period of ten school days to pay the full amount due.”

2.  If you would like for your child to participate in breakfast before the bell (start of the school day), students may enter the building starting at 7:10am and report directly to the cafeteria.  Staff will assist students entering and reporting to the cafeteria.  Breakfast will be served until 7:37am.  Please be sure to apply on the District Parent Portal for free lunch (link is listed above).  

In middle school lunches are broken up into two parts, A and B. The order of your Lunch/ILT period depends on your schedule. To see specific times of lunches check out the Daily Schedule section of this website.

Lunch

Lunch takes place in our Cafeteria where a variety of options are available to our students.

ILT

ILT takes place in the student's classrooms. This is a time for students to catch up on work, read an independent reading book or participate in speech, math excel or extracurricular activities such as band, strings, chorus etc.
