In 7th and 8th grade Orchestra, students at CCMS will deepen their experience and love of music, while creating and making music with their peers. Orchestra at CCMS is a daily class, and students also take weekly group lessons to refine and advance the techniques necessary to become intermediate players. Students learn about music fundamentals such as scales and key signatures, while expanding their knowledge of the fingerboard map. We play more challenging music and develop our tone and intonation. The four orchestral string instruments are offered: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass. Students are eligible to audition for Select Strings, All City Orchestra, and Pit Orchestra among others.
I look forward to working with you to grow from young players to maturing musicians! - Mrs. Longley
