6th grade chorus is an introductory vocal ensemble class where students can find not only their voice, but a new community of friends as they begin their middle school journey!
About Our Director
Lauren Kaufman is a vocalist and music educator from New Jersey. Throughout her own schooling, she participated in the Region, State, All-Eastern US, and National Honors Choirs, receiving the second highest audition score in the nation in 2010. Also during her schooling, she performed at the Rider Shakespeare Festival and with the Paper Mill Playhouse New Voices program. She holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Music from Montclair State University, where she earned the graduate award for Opera Performance and placed first in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition North Jersey. After college, she performed with Disneyland California and Shanghai, and performed multiple roles off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theater. Lauren has been teaching general music and chorus in the NJ public schools since 2017. In 2019, she earned a Foxy Theater Award for Best Live Music through the Mahwah Public Schools as the Music Director for "A Christmas Carol." Lauren is thrilled to join the Clifton Community!
