Episode 7

From Inside the Dorm

With no early morning rush, the children enjoyed a well-deserved lie-in. After a quick phone-time session to check in at home, it was straight to the dining hall for our legendary Sunday brunch, an absolute feast. A breakfast fit for royalty, complete with every kind of fresh fruit you could imagine! The late morning was all about physical recovery.

By the time afternoon tea was served - some delicious Chelsea buns, vanished in seconds! With sugar levels topped up, the children hit the books for a focused an hour study session, putting in the final yards for Monday's exams.

It was time for action. The boys headed out to the fields and courts for some high energy fun, playing rugby, ‘kopastamp’ and basketball. The girls “took part” in a series of indigenous traditional games; ukushaya amathini, and iqhathu. Laughter was heard across the campus.

On Sunday afternoon, the girls went on a meander and spent some time unwinding at the Junction.

Once showered and warm, they tucked into a hearty dinner of chicken and beef Subway style rolls. We then shifted focus from feeding the body to feeding the soul, heading to the chapel for Hearts for Jesus to fill our spirits with the Lord’s word and find a moment of quiet reflection.

Settled, happy, well fed, and officially ready to tackle the new week ahead!

Absence from School

Following up on the Headmaster's Newsletter from last week (see below), we kindly request that leave or absence during the final week or day of term only be requested under unavoidable circumstances. Please email all requests directly to the Headmaster at headmaster@cliftonprep.org.za

Finishing the Chapter Together

As we head into the final stretch of another exceptionally busy and rewarding term, I would like to send a respectful but earnest reminder to our families regarding school attendance. It is vital that our children remain at school right until the final bell of the final day.

The modern tendency to wrap up the term early is a habit we actively discourage at Clifton. We constantly teach our children the importance of consistency, commitment, and finishing what they start with pride. Let us work together to set the right example for them.
