The Common Ground Cafe is a donate-what-you-can community café whose mission is to address food insecurity in Cleveland County. Common Ground Café seeks to provide a space for anyone, “regardless of income, age, or status” to “dine with dignity.”

FORWARD FOCUS and KIDS AT WORK!
Forward Focus connects students 15 to 18 years old with job and career opportunities, including placements for career shadowing, applying for jobs in the area to begin working, assisting in obtaining state ids or drivers licenses, working on school needs such as SAT and ACT prep, tutoring assistance to create a career/school readiness plan. Forward Focus classes are held on Fridays from 3 to 5 pm at the Cleveland County Library, with an additional day during the week for job shadow placement, and transportation is provided as needed.
Kids at Work! Program empowers students 12 to 18 years old with an understanding of proper communication skills, responding vs. reacting in difficult situations, building healthy relationships with others, active listening, job readiness, and assessing school needs. The class is paired with culinary skills, where the students are taught by a professional chef in the art of culinary, including knife skills, cooking methods, different types of mother sauces, and access to ServSafe education. Classes are held Mondays from 4 to 7 pm at the Washington Outreach Ministry, and transportation is provided as needed.

PARENT AND YOUTH SKILLS (PAYS)
