The Price Scholarship was established in 2015 by the Roy L. and Lorene W. Price family. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Shelby High School Student who has a high GPA, participates in the community, demonstrates integrity, honesty, and has a real desire to encourage and to help others. This $20,000 scholarship gift is to be  applied towards tuition and books at an institution of higher learning of their choice. Harriet Parris served Cleveland County Schools for over 40 years.  The Ed and Harriet Parris Education Student Scholarship is given to a  graduating Shelby High School senior in good academic standing at Shelby High, a legal resident of Cleveland County, who will pursue a degree and career in the field of education, and who demonstrates financial need. The yearly scholarship amount varies up to $1400.

The Michael A. The Jonathan Peeler Memorial Scholarship is offered to a student who plans to enter a two year or four year college in any degree program. The Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of the first president of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of North Carolina.  The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit of the individual essay (75%), scholarship and character (20%), and need (5%).
