Our Everyone Welcome Statement
The Clevedon Distillery team (we) will protect the rights of anyone and everyone that we engage with, whether through our doors or at any event we attend.
We actively welcome everyone however they identify. We are intentional in our language and conscious in how we welcome everyone into our spaces. We pride ourselves in creating safe, engaging spaces for anyone from individuals to groups and actively seek out conversations to help us understand how we might make people with anxiety feel calm and included.
As a team, we will not tolerate any form of discrimination on any grounds including gender, sexuality, race, religion or belief, social class, health, age, neuro divergence or physical ability. The team will exclude anyone that discriminates against anyone attending the cocktail lounge, terrace, shop and any of our on or off site events on these grounds.
Any person engaging in conversation that includes derogatory comments, or words and phrases that are discriminatory, or that make other customers, visitors or team members feel unwelcome, will be quietly warned once and asked to stop. They will be referred to this statement and asked to read it. If they refuse, or continue with such comments, they will be publically told to leave and escorted off premises if need be. If they refuse, the Police will be called.
We will always seek to protect our visitors from any form of discrimination or safety concern; if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at any point please ask a member of the team to speak to “Angela”, and you’ll be discreetly moved into a safe area and your well-being attended too; we will ask for further information.
Any and all discriminatory comments made in our venue, or any event we attend, will result in immediate removal and a possible reporting to the Police. As per legal requirements, we have 24 hour CCTV audio and visual recording, and this be shared if necessary.
We seek to make our venue and events as accessible as possible, if you identify anything that we could improve, please know that your input is welcome and we will do our best to act on it: hello@clevedondistillery.com.
If you feel our team hasn’t met your concerns with sufficient urgency, please let Nicholas know immediately in person or texting 07825 661256.
This statement is inspired by our friends at eat:Festivals, who continue to uphold the rights of others for the benefit of everyone that attends their events. Bev and Sarah's determination to create equal spaces for all continues to inspire us.
