Addressing the air pollution issue in Mount Maunganui for all who live, work and visit this beautiful city
Purpose To educate our community, unite our voices and hold industry and our institutions to account for the air pollution that results from heavy industrial activity in Mount Maunganui.
Mission To improve air quality significantly in Mount Maunganui for all those who work, live and visit here by applying community led pressure to, and forming effective partnerships with industries, councils and government to transform this city.
Vision Our vision is one of local transformation, where every organisation sitting on our precious land embraces what makes the Mount so special - our beaches and thriving business community, our athletes and vibrancy, our incredible natural surroundings and attractiveness as a destination of choice. To achieve this, we must rethink our city plan and strive to separate heavy industry from the national treasure which is Mount Maunganui.
Clear the Air Mount Maunganui is a community based environmental conservation charitable trust set up to inform the public about the harmful air pollution problem and associated health risks to people who live/work in or visit Mount Maunganui. The air quality problem in Mount Maunganui is largely due to the substantial industrial area and its proximity to residential locations, schools and sports fields. Lasting solutions to our polluted air happen from the ground up with the participation and leadership of residents and workers most directly affected by pollution and environmental degradation. Together we make change a reality.

● Poor Air Quality in Mount Maunganui is creating SIGNIFICANT health risks including premature deaths and respiratory hospitalisations
Air quality must improve, industry can do more to reduce emissions
