Vampire Lesson

Those blood-sucking creatures stalk the night, making for an unsafe environment. Everyone knows this. Circe knew this too, which is why she was dedicating her time to wiping the streets of these creatures. A night shift was always brutal, but a night shift which creatures out for your blood made it even worse. She knew this too. Which gave that fateful night a sprinkle of painful irony.
At least now Circe didn't spend her nights stalking vampires; now she got to be the vampire. Or vampire adjacent? She wasn't sure the extent of her powers.
Circe painfully stumbled through the foggy woods, clutching her stomach and using the trees around her as a crutch every few steps. Hunger rippled through her stomach, the lack of feeding over the past few days leaving a clear affect on the girl. The scent of blood wafted by her, making her drool on spot. To a hungry vampire, fresh blood was like life support.
No matter how hard she tried, her hunger won. Her hunger always won. She couldn't let it win this time.
Circe felt herself being stalked. She felt eyes on her, she heard the subtle crunch of sticks and dry leaves that hinted at another presence in these woods other than her own. Frantically, Circe looked side to side and behind her.
This search didn't last long. The scent of an opened wound drew her right to a girl in hunting gear. She stood a few feet away, staring this girl down. But the girl didn't notice, the girl was adjusting her belt and counting her gear. Circe popped her fangs out, drool dripping down the side of her mouth. God she was so hungry, and this girl wasn't paying any attention. She must have been a newby hunter, clearly. Not paying attention and open small wounds while hunting. All of that made for a perfect vampire target. Circe knew all this as a former vampire hunter, that's what made her a dangerous vampire. Inside and outside scoop, all knowledge from both sides.
She was truly her own enemy.
Where Circe made her mistake, was assuming the girl would never fix her act. Circe was too busy pointing out flaws in her head and rolling over the fresh scent of blood to realize maybe she should hurry up.
The wind was loud, roaring in her ears and sending a chill down her spine. Fog creeped in around her, setting a creepy and unsettling atmosphere. This also made for a great resting place.
In sweet irony, Circe herself let her guard down for just enough time for the ruthless hunter to sweep in, pulling her wooden dagger out. The hunter grabbed Circe, pulling her into a headlock
“You creatures make the streets unsafe. You creatures make mothers set a strict curfew and shut the doors on anyone they don't know. You creatures make this town dangerous” the hunter spat in her face, leaving no time for a response “I never want to see you step foot in this town again. You know how prepared I'll be” the hunter responded in a cruel manner, shoving Circe to the ground.
